A life sized study of a Peacock Butterfly, a species commonly found across the UK. It has been made from the pages of an old entomology book and painted with watercolour paints. The wings and body are all hand cut from paper and wire is used to keep the paper stiff and in place.
 
The frames are handmade for each display from solid wood and glass. This particular frame has been made from Ash wood and lightly oiled. It has a wire on the back so it is ready to hang from a hook in the wall.
 
In order to keep your piece looking its best, hang it away from direct sunlight and avoid areas where there is a lot of moisture such as in a bathroom.
