AMANITA MUSCARIA | 2024
'Amanita Muscaria' | Recycled Paper, Wire and Thread | 32cm x 32cm x 6cm | 2024.
A study of two Fly Agaric fungi, found commonly in British woodland.
The fungi have been hand carved from old book pages and covered with recycled tissue paper to create the cap and gills. The stalks are made from paper mache and the whole thing painted with water colours to create a more realistic and vibrant colour. The moss has been embroidered around the base using embroidery floss.
The frames are handmade for each display from solid wood and glass. This particular frame has been made from Ash wood and lightly oiled. It has a wire on the back so it is ready to hang when it arrives.
In order to keep your piece looking its best, hang it away from direct sunlight and avoid areas where there is a lot of moisture such as in a bathroom or a lot of direct heat such as directly above a radiator.
