OBSERVER SERIES

I had a collection of broken Observer Books which I wanted to include in a new series of works. I used the species documented inside to create the sculptures which I arranged around the books, mimicking the way nature begins to take over when an object or area is left untouched. I wanted to literally bring the information inside the books to life, as though it was growing out from the pages and creating a small patch of the world that was described within the book.
