This was a very special commission as it was a christening present that would be a reminder to the child of their parents and where they came from. I took species of flowers that had significance to the parents and the places they grew up and then added species that were found in the local area where the child was born. It really intrigued me to hear stories about why these plants were so significant and I wanted to be able to weave them together to create a piece that reflected where they had come from and how they were now growing together as a family.
